Why wasn't the Samsung Rant released today?

I've read numerous places that the Samsung Rant was going to be released today, October 14, but it has yet to be released.. and the day is almost over.








It's no big deal, I'm just wondering, but do you know why?





And also, since the purple colored Rant is exclusive will it cost extra?
