forms of live?(e.g. bugs, chickens, cows). Even noticed how they cut up a cow and give the pieces different names so you won't be reminded that when you are eating a steak, you are eating a COW that has been KILLED for your sordid benefit?Isn't it truly disgusting that some people will rant against human abortion but will willingly kill other-----?
You are right. We kill and we try to rationalize it. Ultimately, our fate is decided upon by a much higher authority. Whom we choose to kill and how is an Earthly matter. If we can gain adequate nutrition from non-animal sources, there's no good reason that we have to continue speciesism. I don't believe that human beings have dominion over the rest of Kingdom Animalia so I'm of the opinion that killing animals for food when there are alternatives is morally wrong, but it's a matter between the individual and the Holy Divinity.Isn't it truly disgusting that some people will rant against human abortion but will willingly kill other-----?
Most rational people draw a clear distinction between human and animal life.
People who do not, have serious problems in my view.
You have a point abut the the animal pieces though, squeamishness about animal parts is pretty silly, but it is confined only to certain parts of the world. In many countries, they are quite unabashed about displaying dead animals whole, or with heads on etc. They do this in France all the time, for instance. You go into a French butcher and you'll see a picture of a cow on the wall with the different parts named so that people will know which bit of the animal they are buying.
You failed to mention the crime against vegetables...This crime goes on unchecked and it makes me cry...
I am going duck hunting tomorrow...it does not bother me that the ANIMAL i am hunting and later eating has any name.
In my hunt I understand the sacrifice this animal has made so that I may eat.
Well, it really does depends how people feel about certain things.
I'm against abortion, but I'm not a vegan or vegetarian.
Some people think that cows, chickens, pigs, etc. are here to serve as a purpose for our consumption.
It really depends on a lot of factors such as religion, morals, beliefs, and your background.
But I understand where your going with your question.
For the idiots who say ';oh human life is worth more';.
A FETUS IS NOT A HUMAN. A fetus is just a bunch of cells formulating.
The women is human. Her rights and her needs should come before one.
How dare you tell her to ';deal with it'; She's the one who's going to carry it for nine months, she's the one who'll go through the labour, she's the one who's body will drastically change.
P.S anti-choice fundamentalists, do you eat eggs?
I MUST be going to h-ell then because just today I killed a spider AND ate a big juicy burger with garlic, onion, mushrooms, bacon, ketchup, relish, and mustard. It was soooooooo good--worth the extra time at the gym this week.
Tomorrow will be another banner day as we are going to a Christmas party and will have a choice of turkey or ham. Maybe I will have both in honor of this question
Whats really disgusting is how people kill plants at will, hearing their screams of pain and anguish as they are boiled or steamed to death. Or worse, eaten alive right out of the ground. Not to mention that they are our oxygen producers. We're killing ourselves by killing plants.
(sarcasm)
Man you really are a strange one.
I don't find it that shocking that human beings put special importance on our own species. I'm a vegetarian myself, but if I had to choose between saving an animal life or a human life, the human would win every time. So I think and feel in a similar way, though perhaps to a lesser extent.
Cows, if not eaten, will cause more global warming due to the methane output of their species. Yes, it's funny. But it's also true.
We breed them to eat them. And I'm all for it.
In the words of Dennis Leary. ';If meat is murder, then murder tastes pretty damn good.';
I'm also pro choice as long as it's done before sentience.
Stop reducing a serious issue to such facile levels, have some respect for those women who have been forced into, or chosen the situation to terminate a pregnancy. Basically, grow up!
Are you high? Man I could kill a burger right now. No a steak burrito. I'm talking about the huge kind of thing that puts 5-10 pounds just by sitting at the table with it.
Man I'm hungry now.
ugh! I can't believe you are categorizing eating meat with abortion as equal. What sheer disrespect for precious human life on your part. Animals and bugs are not equal to humans. God gave man dominion over animals and all the earth.
Well, in essence I agree.
But I must tell you that I am a vegetarian.
We humans are full of contradictions, our ethics are always the ones that matches our own selfishness.
Just because others see it differently then you doesn't make them wrong. I respect meat eaters/hunters as long as they don't try to put meat in your face and say ';ooh doesn't this look good?'; (Im a vegetarian.)
I'm pro choice but I still like a nice medium rare porterhouse and fried chicken is yummy. Bugs however get smooshed if they don't stay out of my house.
