By rigid I mean certain in ones beliefs.Poll for agnostics: would you rather be given an hour long rant by a rigid atheist or rigid Christian?
Definitely a rigid atheist because they don't usually say hateful things when your beliefs conflict with theirs.Poll for agnostics: would you rather be given an hour long rant by a rigid atheist or rigid Christian?
Both place a higher priority on belief rather than knowledge so they'd be equally insufferable.
Nah, screw that. I'll take the atheist. At least they don't whine so much.
Since i don麓t know how other people see me, i suppose i would have to call myself an agnostic, since some people seem to see me as atheist and others as theistic. I think i麓d find both very interesting, but the Christian one would probably be harder to sympathise with.
I'm an atheist but I'd rather listen to the Christian for some lulz.
I don't think an atheist would even be able to ';rant'; for an hour.
Only a fundy Christian could rant for that long.
Well I am border line Atheist, so I'd go with the Atheist. Rigid (any religion)..I just can't listen to for too long. Especially when they all tell you that you are wrong wrong wrong. Annoying! I want to listen to someone who will grab my attention, and science always grabs my attention :).
Which Christians are y'all associating with? My friends don't spend a lot of time concentrating on the whole ';you're gonna go to hell'; bit.. Mostly they listen, offer suggestions from their own lives, and try to be a good example of how to live well.
Let me put your question a different way: Would you rather hear a sermon from Billy Graham? Or a speech from Christopher Hitchens? Or perhaps one from Mahkmoud (sp?) Akhmedinijad?
My guess is most thinking people would pick Billy Graham. He's most likely to have a positive message.
