Any death threat sent towards Alexander Ovechkin will be taken in a very serious manner due to the fact that he is Alexander Ovechkin.





June 3,2008, a bee stung Alexander Ovechkin. This bee was taken into custody and was sentenced to death after his horrible crimes.





Three days later, Jose Theodore (who?) was mauled viciously by a bear. Alexander Ovechkin was within a 500 mile radius, so the bear was taken into custody due to a possible threat of murder to Alexander Ovechkin.





You are never allowed to hurt Alexander Ovechkin, ever.

I don't think it was blown out of proportion at all. Given what has taken place in our society, any death threat is worthy of follow up.





The police handled it exactly as it should have been handled. They investigated, found it to be nothing more than a kid chirping on a forum and decided that it was not worthy of filing charges against the kid. If someone posted a death threat against you somewhere, would you want it investigated?

A 17 year old hopefully just learn a valuable lesson. If you say something serious, even though you think you are joking, it will be treated as serious. Maybe this is another area that they can look into cracking down on, much like internet stalking and predators. Far to many think acting a fool is ok online since no one knows who you are.

Listen, you can sit here and say it was overblown all you want... If there's a threat made on ANYONE'S life from ANY source, in this day and age, asppropriate caution should be taken.
his life was never in danger, the person never had any intent of actually following through. but the Caps thouht better safe than sorry.
