I know! Seriously, I'm sad that I have all these nice CDs and LEGALLY-downloaded music and everyone else is just downloading songs for free on the internet.
I think CDs are cooler because it's tangible, you can hold it in your hands and look through the album art, etc. I'm pretty old-school lol...Then again, downloading on the internet is ';greener'; and saves resources...
So if you want to download music, make sure you BUY it and SUPPORT the artist instead of stealing it! They work hard to make the music, you know?Sorry, people, but I want to rant?
You're right of course.
It's a reaction to being ripped off by the industry for the past few decades. They (the music biz) are slowly coming to terms with the modes of providing entertainment that encompass downloading (rather than pretending it wasn't happening, which they did for a number of years). They bleated about it - and now they are realising that the world has changed.
Trying before buying and then having content at reasonable price structures is the way to go. I like listening first - then paying for the content I really enjoy %26amp; want to keep.
I think this will be viewed as a small period of history where technology was integrated into a new way of using media. The flipside is, of course - not being controlled by a judgemental record industry and global markets available to all. Everyone will win in a few years I think.
I totally agree with you. You said that well. I know someone who steals music online (not naming anyone lol) It's really bad, even though it may be nice to get it for free, it's against the law! :(
